Power The core power plant for supplying electricity to the Jeju Region, one of the biggest tourism areas in Korea
Total capacity : Thermal Power 285,000kW / Solar Photovoltaic Power Plant 50kW

The Jeju Thermal Power Plant, located in northern Jeju island, has various kinds of power generation plants, including Units No.1~3 steam power plant, the Unit No.1 internal combustion, and the Unit No.3 gas turbine. Unit No.3 is designated and operated as the initial starting generator in power failures for the vast area of Jeju, and is the core power plant in Jeju-island. Internal combustion Units No.1~8, which had previously played the main roll in supplying power in the Jeju area, was dismantled in 2003, and now the new combustion unit No.1 of high efficiency (40MW) was completed and replaced the internal combustion Units in June 2006. The additional construction of Unit No.2 was completed in 2009.

The Jeju Thermal Power Plant minimizes environmental pollutant emissions, and recycles the wasted water through improvement of facilities, and had been designated as an environmentally-friendly enterprise in 2003 and 2006 by the Ministry of Environment. It has a solar photovoltaic power plant with the capacity of 50kW installed as part of the installation project of [Solar photovoltaic power plant in the power plant (606kW)], which is the first renewable energy project, using unused lot in the power plant and the rooftop of the turbine house.
