Project Overview
For diversification of new & renewable energy sources, KOMIPO has newly developed bio fuels utilizing wastes (sewage sludge, wastepaper, etc.) and is using them as fuel sources for its power plants.
KOMIPO is operating Iksan Sanggong Energy and Won-ju Green Combined Heat and Power Plant using SRF (Solid Refuse Fuel).
Utilizing organic sold fuel, a domestic recycled resource, the company is employing it as a fuel source for its Boryeong Power Generation Site Division.

Development of CO2 Capture & Storage & Utilization Technology
Project Overview
To advance GHG emission reduction in preparation for the post-2020 climate change regime, KOMIPO installed and operates CO2 capture & storage facilities for the first time among domestic power companies and supplies the stored CO2 for farming (photosynthesis accelerator) and other industrial applications.
Operates a 100MW-class wet amine CO2 capture facility within its Boryeong TPP (world's 3rd largest scale).

Achievement of GHG Reduction Through Operation of High-Efficiency Power Plants
Project Overview
With the first localization of USC thermal power generation technology having higher efficiency than the existing standard coal-fired power plant in Korea, KOMIPO expects to reduce GHG emissions by 1.7 million tons annually and also plans to reduce GHG emissions by another 1.05 million tons annually through functional improvement work at Boryeong TPP #3~#6.

Development & Operation of Overseas New & Renewable Energy Businesses
Project Overview
Advanced into Indonesia and the U.S., an advanced energy country, KOMIPO is vigorously pursuing overseas new & renewable energy businesses.
Construction & operation of Wampu Hydropower and Tanggmus Hydropower plants in Indonesia
Construction & operation of a PV power plant in Boulder City, Nevada, USA

Recycling of By-Products from Power Plants (hot wastewater, coal ash, CO2) Customized for Respective Industries
Project Overview
